Inspired by the warmth and stillness of late summer — a vibrant hibiscus resting in a vintage port bottle against a rich ochre ground. There is something about the stillness and mood of a late summer afternoon that holds a particular kind of nostalgia. This painting is an attempt to sit with that feeling a little longer.

The original is painted in acrylics and oils on cotton canvas (20.5 x 25.5cm).

Printed by a small, dedicated print studio on the NSW South Coast on Hahnemühle cotton rag, using professional giclée printing. Colour-matched to the original by hand — by a human who cares about getting it right. The cloud-like texture of the paper gives each print a presence that makes it an artwork in its own right.
