About

I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country across Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
In my paintings, I'm reaching for a feeling that sits somewhere between memory and intuition — a quiet understanding. I’m drawn to the natural world not only for its beauty, but for the stories it holds: the old rhythms, the symbols our ancestors understood, the threads that connect us to something larger than ourselves. Working with both acrylics and oils, I aim to drop out of my head into my body as I paint, allowing the emotion and story to come through in the raw, messy and sometimes playful application of paint.
Inspiration to me can come from anything that touches me deeply and leaves a resonance somewhere in me. One of the defining experiences for me has been my childhood summers spent in the Finnish archipelago, living in a century old fisherman's cottage with my family. The deep connection I felt with my surroundings and the inherited stories of the place, continues to shape my relationship with the natural world.
Born and raised in Finland, I now call Australia home, living and working on Yuin Country in Shoalhaven, NSW. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Macquarie University, which brings a reflective and relational perspective to my art. I continue to expand my visual language through ongoing study, both on- and offline, including mentorship with contemporary expressionist Holly Eva and classical training with the Milan Art Institute.
