There is something ceremonial about the way these objects have been placed, as if laid out with intention before something begins. Gathered, arranged and placed with reverence. I painted this piece when I had an open studio in Timbermill in Bulli, as part of my solo exhibition 8. After the exhibition, I decided to keep it - there was something about it I wanted to soak in and take forward to my future paintings. Now, however, I’m ready to part with it, feeling that it has given me what I needed from it, and that it’s time for it to find its next home.
